Light Up The Night with Girl Scouts
at the Thin Mint Sprint Glow Run!
Thin Mint Sprint Set For Saturday, October 8

Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma is the only girl-led leadership development organization in our region that provides every girl regardless of race, ethnicity or socioeconomic status, with exciting, innovative programming to develop the leader within. This means that from outdoor experiences like camping, canoeing, and spelunking to STEM- related activities like astronomy and robotics, and more, Girl Scouts gives girls the chance to discover their interests, develop the confidence to try new things, and grow as leaders.

With an ongoing commitment to improving the health and well-being of our girls, Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma also provides educational enrichment through its core curriculum, addressing the very specific health issues that affect girls and their families. Combining fun with creative programming that focuses on emotional and social well-being, as well as physical health, nutrition and physical fitness, girls are empowered to make healthy changes.

In an effort to increase awareness of the benefits of the Girl Scouts health and wellness initiative beyond the Girl Scout community, last year’s Thin Mint Sprint was opened to the general public attracting more than 500 participants. Thrilled by the response, Kathryn Davis-Robb, Director of Programs knew it was time to up the ante.

“This year’s Thin Mint Sprint will still be a 5K and 1-mile fun run, but with a twist…it’s a glow run! Seeing as green is the iconic Girl Scout color and the color of the box of Thin Mints each 5K participant receives, it’s only fitting!”  All participants are encouraged to come in their brightest costumes!

The Thin Mint Sprint takes place on Saturday, October 8 at Bixby’s Bentley Park, and this year there is something for everyone!

Participants can choose between a 5K or 1-mile fun run. Those who want to support Girl Scouts but can’t make the race are encouraged to register as a Virtual Runner; and those who want to be a part of the big day but don’t want to race can register as one of our Rah-Rah Raisins (another Girl Scout Cookie reference!) cheerleaders.

All participants will receive a t-shirt (if registered by September 1), glow items, and enjoy post race food. All 5K finishers will receive a box of Thin Mints! There will also be activity stations for the kids to enjoy!

Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma has partnered with Tulsa Area Trail/Ultra Runners. The Thin Mint Sprint 5K is a chip-timed, USTAF certified course. For more registration information please visit www.gseok.org/en/programs/thin-mint-sprint.html.
